Cassandra Dillon is in serious need of a life plan.

She knows that despite her family's best intentions, a summer-long cruise trapped together in close quarters will not help her make that plan. In a desperate bid for independence, Cass leaps off the boat in the middle of the night and swims like a madwoman to reach the nearest island and (hopefully) enlightenment and personal fulfillment.

Washed ashore, she meets Finnegan Drake, an adventure-seeking anthropologist whose broad shoulders and natural charm just might blow Cassandra's plan to avoid men right out of the water. With his help she also meets a bouncy new roommate, a no-nonsense boss, a reproachful receptionist, and a colorful community of people who help Cassandra answer the age-old question: what do I want to be when I grow up?

Life on this idyllic island is almost too good to be true, and Cass is soon sipping pina coladas, hiking moonlit trails, and swimming with manta rays-searching for answers anywhere she can, and doing her best to ignore the mounting heat sizzling between herself and Finn. A sweet man with a killer smile is no substitute for a clear purpose in life, no matter how perfect he may seem. But with a little luck and a lot of soul-searching, Cass may manage to land both.
