Thunderheads, the first AQUALAMB book from LAMACCHIA, swoops in from visionary heights and cultivates a deeply expansive journey inspired by a reluctant, yet accepted exile. Composed and recorded over the course of 2020 and 2021, the book is like a lullaby for the apocalypse, with healthy doses of self-respect and emotional bravery that serve as a salve for our pandemic-weary hearts.
The isolation and the feeling that the world was falling apart allowed me to let go of any inhibitions I might have had about myself as an artist, LaMacchia says of his experience composing Thunderheads during the Covid-19 pandemic. It enabled me to tap into something deep inside and write something straight from the soul. Like most people in production and music: work went away, fully and completely. The amount of time I had on my hands also allowed me to really focus on my craft and my performances without any concerns about time.
