The United Systems was determined to destroy its enemies.
To that end, they commissioned the Frankel Total Body Prosthesis. Into it, they could transfer a person’s entire central nervous system, plus the eyes and ears. The result would be a super-soldier that could not only obey commands but also - with the proper training - give them.
They built three prototypes in all. But one went insane and destroyed the underground colony where the first experiments took place. Another, waking up in a body that was not hers after being killed in action, lapsed into a catatonia from which nothing could wake her up.
The third was Matthew Morrow - once a loyal and successful Naval officer and now a dangerous renegade.
But now Matthew Morrow had fallen back into the authorities’ hands. The problem was, he couldn’t seem to remember anything that had happened to him after his first breakout.
The authorities had only one way to save their project: to reunite Matthew Morrow with the female cyborg. After all, the two had been lovers once, and he might still remember her. Maybe if he knew his love was still alive, Matthew Morrow might cooperate.
That was their worst mistake!
