And as with the original version, the author has included dozens of odd images that blend into the story.

When My Life With Wings was first published the book won several literary awards, including the Beverly Hills Book Award in the New Fiction category. The book was also a finalist for the Eric Hoffer Award Montaigne Medal and the Hoffer Grand Prize.
