Dr. Hunter has been collecting these stories for years. Then he started telling them. Now he's writing them down.

They come from almost 60 years of being a country vet driving around countless back roads caring for farm animals. Some even come from earlier times as a student, or before.

They are all stories of irony.

Many are humorous, but certainly not all. Some attest to our ability to solve problems in almost impossible situations. Some have sadness in them. Some have a deeper, if unclear, meaning. Certainly, many result in closer and deeper friendships.

These are all true stories. That said, he might have changed some of the facts and maybe some names too, although many of the people have been dead for years and years.

Dr. Hunter graduated from the University of California Davis in 1965.

He spent the next 58 years as a country vet in the San Joaquin Valley and North Coast in California and finally near Astoria, Oregon.

He has shared these stories countless times over the years and has now put them into print form in this book.
