In An Imbalance of Shadows, Julianna freed the ancient god, Grandfather Shadow, and he marked her as his high priest which forced her to choose between her birthrights. In Once We Were Like Wolves, Julianna met Grandfather Shadow's followers for the first time which forced her to embrace being the Lord Morigahn, the title of Grandfather Shadow's high priest. Now, Julianna waits for her splintered followers to gather. She will truly be tested as to the kind of leader she will be. Allies and enemies surround her, and both the Morigahnti and agents of the Kingdom of the Sun seem to have their secret agendas.
