This book is a collection of poems penned through turbulent years when the poet was very low, but he tried to make it very productive with these poems. These poems cover a wide range of topics, including emotion, imagination, hope and despair, societal issues, and more. Since he hasn't attempted to employ any sort of meter or rhyme structure in many of the poems, these poems exhibit freedom. The majority of the poems have an unstructured and spontaneous style. They are the product of unplanned and impromptu writing.

Since writing is a spontaneous outburst of strong emotions, as William Wordsworth once stated, and that is exactly what occurred to the poet. For a long time, these feelings consumed him, and they eventually came out in his poetry. In some way, writing them healed and soothed his aching heart.
