Geronimo's Story of His Life is an autobiographical account dictated by Geronimo, the famous Apache leader and warrior, to S. M. Barrett, a writer and historian. The book offers a personal insight into Geronimo's life, his experiences as a leader, and the culture of the Apache people during a time of immense upheaval.

Geronimo was a prominent leader of the Chihenne band of the Bedonkohe Apache, who fought fiercely against both Mexican and American forces during the Apache Wars, which spanned much of the 19th century. His autobiography, dictated to Barrett in 1905 and later published, reveals the complex narrative of his life and the forced displacement of Native American tribes by European settlers and the U.S. government.

The autobiography was written at a time when Geronimo was a prisoner of war, having been captured and exiled to Florida after his final surrender to the U.S. Army in 1886. Despite his captivity, the story remains an important record of his experiences, as well as a reflection on the loss of his people's way of life due to the relentless expansion of the United States.

The autobiography is a chronological account of Geronimo's life, from his early years as a young warrior to his rise as one of the most renowned Apache leaders.
