A sequence to the previously published anthology 'Purple Blossom" 2017, 'Chants of Realism' is a collection of poems that are harvested from the silk of Life. The silk which is expertly woven by humankind to clothe our starkness.
The poems, sequenced alphabetically, touch upon the fragile realities of life and relationships. A tinge of humour ensures that we shoulder our yoke with elegance. Reminiscing yester years, we anticipate tomorrow and take the day's weather in our stride. We build bridges and mend walls, criticize success and celebrate falls; resent and forgive, receive and give till we reach the last page; only to realize that we are just like books in a library, some open some unread.
The latter section of the book is the author's impression on Limerick poetry. A form of traditional humourous lighthearted verse tweaked to a different tune.
