Rampyari

Ram got out of bed mechanically; he was wearing a checked lungi and white kurta, 'Rampyari... you are her now' she reminded him... He stood facing the full length dressing table mirror and took off his white kurta and cotton vest and stood naked waist up...

Her flat chest and arms had a few scattered scant hair... 'It will all go' her Guru had told her, 'but how?' She didn't have a clue!

Ram's gaze wandered to his head, 'bring the razor... let me shave this bloody eunuch...'

The past came hitting hard again...

She put her palms on his ears to block out the echoes but could the echoes of the past be drowned forever? Would the cruel past that had mercilessly handed him into the custody of a dark future always haunt her?

She let his pyjama fall to the floor and saw herself in the skin... Ram saw her reflection in the mirror but did not see himself... he was Ram indeed... but... She was not what he was and he did not feel like HER yet...
