There's a reason they say dog is man's best friend. And Uncle Buddy would probably tell you there's more than one. During their weekly trips to the farmers market, Uncle Buddy and his wife, Cathy, are accustomed to chatting with the friends they meet when one day they hear about Sir Eddie the beagle. A senior doggie who has quite the past, Sir Eddie eventually becomes a member of Uncle Buddy's family-and he shows off his skills at being quite the escape artist, too! Running off to explore is Sir Eddie's thing, and that and all of his other quirky personality traits is what Uncle Buddy loves learning about his new canine companion. Join man and dog-and wife Cathy and daughter Michelle, of course-in all of their great adventures in the wilderness of Louisiana.
About the Author
Uncle Buddy was born in rural West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. He graduated from St. Francisville High School, where he was captain of the football team and was voted Mr. St. Francisville High by the student body. He is a Vietnam veteran. He has also worked as a logger, plumber, and always a farmer, where he was close to Mother Nature.
In 1980 Uncle Buddy loaded up his wife and two small children and headed to Branson, Missouri, on their very first family vacation. Passing through Arkansas, he fell in love with the pile of rocks called the Ozarks. From then on they had numerous affordable vacations exploring the Ozarks, riding the back roads, enjoying real people, eating real food, and visiting the many great state parks and staying in the ones that provided lodging. When Uncle Buddy got to the age that he could not take proper care of his Louisiana farm, he bought a modest house in Arkansas close to his beloved Ozarks. He sold the farm in Louisiana and he and his lovely wife of fifty-three years moved into their new home, where they can visit their beloved mountains and marvel at one of Mother Nature's best creations.
