Amazon Reader Reviews:

"I just loved this story. Conflicting alien cultures clash and it all looks as if it is going to get very messy with at least one alien species eliminated. In the end it all works out happily." "Expertly written, fast-paced and brimming with captivating, relatable characters, I could not put this book down." "...while it has its flaws, "Exiles" was an entertaining sci-fi read, and a new twist on the alien-invasion story. If you're in the mood for a quick, fast-paced, and fun science fiction novel, I recommend [it]."

Nineteen-year-old Sam Locklear grew up on an alien planet after he was forcibly conscripted into an alien training program as a child. Smart and charismatic, Sam has become one of the alien's favorite cadets, but although he's come to trust a few of them, he isn't blind to their harsh treatment of Earth.

Now he's on his way back to Earth to work in their Los Angeles headquarters, and to find the line between being used... and using them.

When Sam's homecoming speech sets off a string of violence against his fellow cadet exiles, he has to reevaluate his whole plan. First there's a hate message scrawled in blood, then a drive-by attack, and a riot at a festival. Sam and the other cadets have finally come back to Earth, but coming home is something entirely different.

From the streets of Los Angeles to a new treacherous space station, Sam must unravel his tangled loyalties and decide how he and the other cadets can use their training to save their own people. Exiles is a fast-paced, psychological science fiction adventure for those who enjoy clean, classic sci-fi like Ender's Game or Star Trek novelizations.

Warning: The protagonists are teenagers, but there is minimal angst and no love triangle. There is also action and suspense which may keep you awake reading all night.
