Fumo became Mike's most important friend, and the roller coaster ride through the corridors of power and row home streets of Philly took place by his side. Soon came a storm of corruption investigations and Fumo was engulfed. Stack maneuvered through the minefield and defied the odds to win statewide office but found a new crisis. Through the treachery and challenges, he emerged triumphantly on a personal spiritual level beyond the measures of mere political office which would never have been possible had he not been trained in the combat zone of the city he loves.
