In a male-dominated society, there are always glaring differences between society’s perception of a woman’s selfhood and the intrinsic identity that she has always wanted to build. While she undergoes a series of trials throughout her formative years, she encounters certain behavioural patterns, certain misogynistic and inhumane actions that are considered ‘the usual’ in the eyes of the society. Since these actions are not to be spoken of and therefore slid under the carpet, these revelations naturally needed to be read-not spoken-in the form of this book.

Through this book of poetry, I have attempted to encapsulate these perceptions in the form of 8 questions-questions which you must have encountered in your day-to-day life.

These poems, mostly anecdotal in nature, are a testament to the resilience that you and I have exhibited.

Because the perceived woman is not just me. It is us.
