All nine tales are told in verse, and Gustave Dor?'s 19th-century illustrations have been recreated in full colour by Michael Richard Hinton. You are warned that the stories have not been adjusted to suit modern sensibilities. They are full of ogres with a taste for human (especially children's) flesh, and the language has not been bowdlerised to make it more suitable for children.
