Volusia Lodge is a small, country, Masonic Lodge with a rich history. Now 150 years old its history is traced to the beginning of Volusia County. The early members were often veterans of the Indian Wars and the War Between the States (both Union and Confederate). They shaped and guided the Northwestern area of the county through the years making it one of the most prosperous regions of the country. They made citrus and ferns into the multimillion-dollar industry that it is today. Beginning with steamboats produce and turpentine from Volusia County made it to cities in the North. This book details the history of Volusia Lodge No. 77 and how it helped shape the region. It also provides biographies of the leaders of the Lodge. Even the non-Mason will find something interesting.
