This collection is the result of an online search for the best haiku. Here's the backstory... as a busy writing coach, manuscript editor and public school educator, Stephen FitzGerald often told others that he couldn't find the time to read for his own pleasure. Then, during a trip to return a family member's overdue books, he was drawn to the library's poetry section. While scanning the many titles on a shelf, he saw dozens of books about traditional and modern haiku. There, facing the books, he had an epiphany that was more of a confession: He certainly had the time for 17 syllables a day. Now, there was no excuse not to read and enjoy haiku!

The result is The Best Haiku 2023 International Anthology, the third annual collection in the series of winning haiku from around the world!
