Rosie and the Race Toward Freedom

The year is 1850 and the Underground Railroad is providing enslaved people with a precious path to freedom! Twelve-year-old Rosie is enslaved with her young brother and mother on a plantation in Virginia. One day, a secret message from her father arrives. He has found freedom in the North, and it's time for them to join him. Soon, Rosie is part of a small group that uses the cover of night to make their escape.
