Over time, and from several different backgrounds, these five women had come together to become the most effective deterrent to criminal behavior the city had ever seen. Their values, professional goals, and courage didn't have anything to do with them being Lesbians, it just worked out that way.
Tanya, Isabel, Maria, Jean, and Maureen had been effective as individual police officers in this and other districts, but together...they made each other better. They had become well-known, if not famous in the department and law enforcement field. The dangers and risks they took didn't seem to deter them. But they were human and had private moments of apprehension and doubt. Their different backgrounds and ethnicities weren't a problem either, but rather an advantage in fighting crime. They were the best!
