When I Was A Child

George R Montgomery

As a child, I can recall singing the song,

"Be careful little eyes what you see,

Be careful little eyes what you see,

For there's a God up above, and he's looking down below,

So be careful little eyes what you see."

The song continued with "little ears what you hear, and little feet where you go." As elementary and simple as the words to this song appear, those assigned to impart the meaning of this song failed to realize the importance of being first partakers of this message.

"When I Was A Child: A Journey From Religion To Relationship" is a narrative of how I was challenged with transitioning through various stages of life, development, and spiritual maturation based on the lens of others. This impacted me in ways that helped shape my identity and led me on a lifelong journey of discovering who I thought I was, how did I get there, and ultimately, who God destined me to be.
