Boston Blackie is a fictional character created by author Jack Boyle. Blackie, a safecracker jewel thief in Boyle's stories, became a detective in adaptations for films. Chester Morris played Horatio "Boston Blackie" Black in fourteen film between 1941 and 1949, as well as a radio series in 1944 for N.B.C. Richard Lane played Inspector Farraday, also in the radio series.
