Receive The Promise

Our great God gave us a great gift: a promise only He can make and keep. We are familiar with receiving gifts from loved ones and generations past, as well as from many people today whose lives and work are a gift to us. Yet we may take their lives and gifts for granted, not speak of them, give thanks for them, honor and share them with anyone. We do so to our harm and loss. For joys of earthly gifts are, for now, and we miss their happiness if we pass them by. But the joy of God's gift is forever to all who receive the promise.
