Who Kidnapped Uncle Tom and Why it Matters delves deeply into Harriet Beecher Stowe's 1852 international bestseller Uncle Tom's Cabin to explore the historical controversy of the main character, Uncle Tom. Through nearly a decade of extensive research, author Dallas C. Terrell, meticulously pulls back the curtain to reveal the fascinating history of the Who, What, and Why involved in the "Kidnapping" of Uncle Tom, from the author Stowe's original portrayal of him as a Christ-like figure to the confusing insulting persona he is often presented as today.

Shedding light upon the social-political significance of this modern day "Uncle Tom" - who it serves, and why it persists in this negative form, readers are shown this intriguing historical background in a new light. How did this misunderstanding about Stowe's character come about? Presented are simple common sense practices that if implemented, may result in meaningful and respectful life-changing dialogues today.

St. Louis-born DALLAS C. TERRELL graduated from Southeast Missouri State University as a student-athlete. He is a fitness/wellness coach in Huntsville, Alabama, and is ordained and licensed by the National Baptist Convention. As a startup head coach for the local Parkinson's Dynamics Rock Steady life optimization program for eight years, he has proudly helped them to become a nationally recognized training center. Dallas has always been an avid reader, especially about history, the origins of civilizations and ethnic groups, slavery, abolitionism, and religion. He has been especially interested in Uncle Tom's Cabin since his first reading at age 12 and researched the book and the historical era in great detail. Dallas is locally involved in community service efforts, especially youth mentoring, sports programs, and church camps. He has held offices for the local and state-level Republican Party. He is a proud father of two sons and a granddaughter.
