Both "Hunting Blue" books (the sequel in 2025) include real, recent police stories. All other stories are fictitious, but the intent is to keep the reader guessing; real or not? I begin with Trayvon Martin and Barak Obama in Sanford, Florida. Then, information is shared on Michael Brown (Ferguson, MO), Eric Garner (NYC), Freddy Gray (Baltimore), George Floyd (Minneapolis), Briana Taylor (Louisville), and numerous others that were national news events with protests. The hope is to create respect for the men and women whose job it is to serve and protect. Those who choose law and order careers are like the rest of us. They have mortgages, they walk their dogs, plan good times with family and friends, go out to eat, and are good neighbors. Unfortunately, some of their lives are interrupted or ended by vengeful criminal assault. "Hunting Blue" is not a happy or fun beach read. Blue lives matter! I retired soon after my wife died in 2010. More than half of my eighty-one years was spent in elementary schools. Teaching students from six to sixteen, I also served as principal athletic director and coach, and five years as Minister of Religion, assisting in worship, confirmation instruction, and summer programs. I've published twelve books in fifteen years Two more ("Dona Nobis Pacem" and "There Comes A Time" are near completion). I read every day and regularly write. I have three children, each successful (nursing, teaching), eight grandkids, and four great-grandkids. My B.S. degree was from CTC, Seward, Nebraska; the Master's from FAU, Boca Raton, Florida. Hobbies? Gardening, birding, cooking, and biking in the New Orleans area. I've lived and died with St. Louis Cardinals' baseball since I was four.
