In 1865 the Northern State's superior numbers and industrial superiority were grinding the Civil War to its inevitable end. In the mountains of East Tennessee the Cahill family, who wished only to be left alone to tend their small farm, was eventually forced to take sides in their community.
Local prejudice, bias, and eventually, an unavoidable act of violence, forced them to abandon their home. Seeking to leave past events behind, the Cahills abandoned their home and joined the mass migration of pioneers heading west along the California-Oregon Trail. Their aim was to start a new life in a new land. Violence followed them.
Joshua is a story of devotion, loyalty, courage, and revenge. It is about coming of age: part adventure-part western. It is a story about a family lost-and a family found.
