In Revelee, the story of success was often written in the margins.
Nestled deep in the Piney Woods of East Texas, this riparian utopia was settled before Texas became a state. Because of its remote location, however, the tiny hamlet was a convenient asylum for those who preferred to live outside of civilization and the law.
Following the American Civil War, corruption became rampant. Deceitful individuals, under the guise of Federal Regulators, took advantage of cheap land prices and exploited the peaceful setting. Law-abiding citizens were essentially outnumbered by misfits and troublemakers.
Two native sons, Graham Dean and Charlie Coker, recognized the potential for economic growth. They were determined to assure its prosperity and social order. Beginning with their commission as local law men, through ranching, and then their rise to unimagined success as oil tycoons, they were loyal proponents of their hometown.
But the characters and events they encountered along the way were often blurred between fantasy, fact and fiction.
