Meanwhile, WWII sweeps through the world as Pepper grows up in San Francisco. After graduating from high school, Pepper is on her way to attend the Perfumery Academy. She reconnects with Phoebe in Honolulu and receives a list of items to collect at each stop. The first Pan Am 001 around-the-world flight going west, is an adventure in itself. Learning about the various processes, fragrances and perfumes along the way, ending up in London.
