I wrote this book to share my love of both the Great State of New Jersey and all of the bounty she has to offer. We will explore some great history associated with New Jersey, talk out our very diverse population and rich culture and I will show you how that translates into nostalgically delicious food! I became inspired to write this book, after traveling extensively around our amazing Country and experiencing treasure troves of delicious and thought evoking regional culinary creations from every corner of this great nation.

While there are so many different regional foods to pick from who’s roots hale from literally all over the world! I keep coming back to one regional cuisine that elicits those thoughts of fun, family and friends. This is style of cooking that is actually unique to our country and varies from region to region; Barbecue!

Using my love for barbecue and everything New Jersey, I have taken the best of what I loved from the other regional barbecue styles, cross referenced them with the rich culture, history and extensive bounty we have in New Jersey to create what I am calling Coastal Jersey BBQ.

Let’s take a trip through history learn a little about the Great State of New Jersey, regional BBQ styles and create something new, exciting fun and delicious together!
