Translators, Traitors?: Mistranslations of Chinese & Great Power Conflict

Eric Engle

Translators Traitors looks at how mistranslations of Chinese political directives resulted in the rise of China, the outsourcing of U.S. jobs and renewed great power conflict. The author speaks several languages fluently, including Chinese. This small book shows how naive wishful thinking in Washington and Wall Street greed led to the destruction of US industry and the rise of the Chinese dictatorship, which is now the world’s largest economy with the world’s largest navy. Folly in Washington and Wall Street was matched by shrewd strategy in China including deception which fed into the blind greed of America’s so-called leaders. An indictment of deindustrialization and the folly of fighting endless insurgencies against petty terrorists while a communist dictatorship grew more and more powerful. Given all that one may fairly ask: How long till the next Pearl Harbor? All this is detailed in the booklet here and the follow on books in the series.

About the author: Eric Engle studied law in France, Germany, and the USA and has published dozens of law review articles and books. He speaks English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Chinese and Estonian. He also won a Fulbright scholarship or two and worked at Harvard Law School. More of an iconoclast than a diplomat he tells you the ugly truth which the elites cannot or will not. Trump happens.
