The year 2027 marks the thirtieth anniversary of John Denver's death. His spirituality was a way of life, like biblical spirituality is; the reader enters Denver's spirituality and biblical spirituality to reflect on ways one may live both together. Denver's spirituality is based in nature and people. He observed nature and thoughtfully interpreted his experiences of it, recording his interpretations in lyrics and music. Likewise, after interpreting his relationships, he recorded his thoughts in love songs. Denver and biblical spirituality both begin with experience, reflection upon it, and a record of what the experience meant. Biblical authors told stories, recorded reflections, narrated events, or wrote psalms and poetry about their experiences. This book compares chosen Denver themes to biblical themes and reflects on the parallel spirituality in an abecedarian format of sixty-seven entries organized with (1) a title theme; (2) a JD section explaining how Denver uses the theme to name his experience; (3) a Scripture passage, which illustrates the biblical use of the theme; (4) a Meditation/Journal exercise to guide the reader into meditating/journaling to deepen the reader's spirituality; and (5) a Psalm Response, a few verses from a biblical psalm (song) that uses the theme in some way.
