John was born in Richmond Victoria and due to many re-locations had a disrupted schooling which resulted in him being two years older than his class mates. In school, he lacked talent for English & Social Studies and was not much better at Maths. However he did well at Science, Art, woodwork and sheet metal work in other words he was good with his hands. He never read a book until he was nineteen years old. He sufferes with bipolar disorder, however, this did not stop him from writing this book. The irony is that, now retired, he paints scenery and writes poetry, prose and short stories. You can find some of John's paintings at the end of this book and they are for sale. John is certain you will enjoy the reading and in particular the poetry. Not to mention the story of his mothers life to which he added the comments in italics. He would encourage anyone with a mental illness to do whatever they have in their heart to do, just do it. His ability to write was not good as he was not very good at spelling. At the present he is writing yet another book on poetry which he hopes will be published next year. 2025. Once you come to the photo's of his paintings if you happen to like any just let him know and it may be available for sale.
