Nesseltal became an independent parish in the year 1400 in Gottschee. Rev. Schauer describes the parish history and current events of the 1920s and 1930s, names of individuals, donations from Gottscheers living in the United States, names of those who died in WW I, establishment of the Yugoslav state in 1918, parish statistical records from 1831-1930. Schauer 's extensive research includes the names of pastors, chaplains, and vicars of Nesseltal beginning in 1580. Detailed description of the churches and chapels in Nesseltal parish and the surrounding villages give a glimpse of the history and cultural life of the parish.
