It was long ago that Bushy Bushy came on the scene. Modern day investigations have revealed that the Bushy Bushy in this story was actually the grandson of the original Blackbeard. Thus, the "Bushy Bushy," shorthand for "grandson of." Melissa Murgatroyd first appeared in night time stories in the year 1982. Melissa lived on a street in Bemphis. Her driveway at that time was graveled and quite long. Some estimated that her driveway was 900 feet in length and connected her home place to a rural street called Birby Road.

Melissa had a three-year-old sister named Baith, and many stories were told of the two youngsters and their adventures. Soon, a brother was born named Bussell. Bops and Bana did not yet exist because none of Melissa's siblings had children. It was Bart Tully, Jr. who first had the idea of journeying to Grand Cayman. Records are unclear as to whether he was looking for treasure or not, but we do know that he purchased a condominium at the Christopher Columbus on Seven Mile Beach where the Murgatroyd stories took a dramatic turn.

The famous Bushy Bushy made his first appearance in nighttime stories in the eastern bedroom at the Christopher Columbus where the two girls would enjoy bedtime stories. Typically, the room would be dark to increase the "dramatic tension." If records are correct, Bushy Bushy's arrival in each story was always scary.
