This book is the product of a transformative six-month journey of faith, learning, and leadership undertaken by the Mount Neboh Baptist Church family in Harlem, New York, under the spiritual guidance of our Senior Pastor, Dr. Johnnie M. Green, Jr. What began as a Bible Enrichment series focused on the Book of Nehemiah evolved into a powerful movement within our church-both spiritually and physically-as we walked through the themes of ruin, renewal, and restoration together.

The decision to study Nehemiah was not incidental. As our church faced a major renovation project-restoring our building, repairing vital infrastructure, and renewing sacred spaces-we found ourselves identifying deeply with the people of Jerusalem in Nehemiah's time. Their city lay in ruins, yet through faith, vision, and collective effort, they rebuilt. Likewise, Mount Neboh found strength in Scripture, community in worship, and purpose in perseverance.
