I have always admired Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, throughout her reign and The Royal Family, for their dedication "To Service." Upon reflection, I had also not realised, how much of my life when growing up, had been positively influenced by The Royal Family as well.

I was inspired to write these poems, as soon as I returned from England, back to Belfast (having spent 2 x 36-hour "shifts" awake, with only 7 hours sleep, in between each 36 hours!)

It really was the most amazing time to be in London and it really did feel like, for once, the entire world had united, unbelievably the focus being, for just one person! Which, I think, is truly incredible. The sense of togetherness was tangible.

Having completed the first 2 poems, I wanted to fly over for The Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. This was to feel and be a part of history and to see for myself the "changing of the guards" so to speak! These life events are so rare. Being amongst the crowds, gave me such a feeling of being present and I did feel like I was living "inside a history book" at the time!

To try and capture the "essence" of the events with so many people involved, the different coaches, the different uniforms, and crests and with so much else "going on," in such a small area, is no mean feat.

"To try to always be the best version of oneself," is now going to be my motto, just like (in my opinion), The late Queen Elizabeth Il showed us all how to be.
