We are gathered at Tom and Pam's ranch for Scottie's after-baby blessing luncheon. Everyone I care about is here except for Dawn and Solomon. Evan's mother moved in with us yesterday. I'm brought out of my musing when I realize my cell phone is ringing. I'm not surprised to see it's Dawn on the caller ID, "Hi Dawn. How's everything?"

"Terry, I'm so, so sorry... The last Derksin brother torched the Seaside Concert Hall, and it burned to the ground last night."

"No, no, no! This can't be happening. I have too many plans!" I yell and then crumble onto the sofa and sob.

I don't even realize when Pam takes the phone out of my hand, "Dawn, I've put you on speaker. Will you tell us what you said to Terry?"

"I guess the direct approach was not the best idea... The last Derksin brother torched the concert hall last night. All that remains are the exposed catacombs. Can you get Terry calmed down enough that I can tell her all is not lost?"
