The stories include cases of theft, blackmail, and matters of national importance. The last story in the book, The Final Problem, depicts Holmes' apparent death in a struggle with his archenemy, Professor Moriarty. Interesting trivia tid-bit: "Elementary, my dear Watson," is perhaps the most well-known phrase of the Sherlock Holmes stories. The only problem is, that phrase never actually appears in any of the manuscripts written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Caveat; Holmes did often use the word "elementary" to describe his deductions and did address Watson as "my dear Watson," but he never combined the two into a single phrase.
