Preface This book was created to uplift and empower. Through trials and triumphs, I've discovered that growth is a journey, not a destination. My hope is that each page sparks reflection, strengthens determination, and reminds you that you are called for greatness. Together, let's embrace the process-one step, one prayer, one breakthrough at a time.
More than just navigating job challenges, balancing life's demands, or overcoming obstacles, this book is about trusting God's purpose beyond self-doubt. It is a personal testimony-one that reflects the moments when God revealed my calling and how faith carried me through hardship.
We often assume that anyone who writes a book has already achieved success. But success is rarely a straight path. History proves this-Henry Ford, John D. Rockefeller, Nikola Tesla, and Larry King each endured countless failures before their setbacks turned into triumphs. Even in scripture, we see this struggle unfold. King David, chosen by God and called a man after God's own heart, spent years running, hiding, and preparing for battle. By human standards, these men seemed destined for failure, overwhelmed by obstacles. But failure, rather than being an endpoint, became a catalyst for greatness.
So why do we fear failure when, in truth, it is a stepping stone to growth? As the saying goes, Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner! Embracing failure strengthens us, fuels resilience, and shapes the journey toward breakthrough-to soar. I was raised to be a Christian woman, molded by the wisdom and values passed down to me. These principles-rooted in scripture-were more than just lessons; they became a foundation for a life of purpose and integrity. The belief was simple: follow God's Word, live righteously, and your life will prosper until the day Jesus returns. As a child, it was easy to grasp-the Golden Rule: to live a life pleasing to God.
I grew up surrounded by hardworking Christians who upheld faith and diligence. Back then, success had clear definitions-a blue-collar job, a retirement package, factory work, teaching, medicine, or nursing. In inner-city communities, success wasn't measured by a corporate title-it was the pride of owning a Cadillac or a Buick Electra 225 (the deuce and a quarter). But today, success has evolved, no longer bound by one definition. It is personal, shaped by individual dreams, challenges, and values. Each person must define it for themselves-what it means to break through, to soar, and to live a life that truly matters.
By the time I reached my late twenties, I believed I had life figured out. I had a plan, a vision, and a purpose. Eager to share my newfound awakening, I called my dad, expecting encouragement. After a brief sigh, his response was simple: "And now you get stupid." That was not the encouragement I had hoped for. But soon, I found myself making one bad decision after another-choices about friends, investments, jobs, and career moves that left me questioning everything. For a moment, I wondered if my dad had been right all along. But deep inside, something refused to give in-I refused to label these moments as failures. Instead, I embraced them, learned from them, and pressed forward. Each misstep became a lesson, each setback a stepping stone, and before I knew it, I had transitioned into the next chapter of life, stronger and wiser than before.
