"I Lost My Tooth!" is about a little girl who loses her first 8 baby teeth in various ways, even actually 'losing' a tooth and never finding it. Information about why and how children lose teeth is helpfully provided, including why a dentist may sometimes have to remove a baby tooth. Advice from a pediatric dentist was obtained to verify the accuracy of the information given. Illustrations were provided by the author's grand-daughter who was the inspiration for the book, by a young middle school student who loves to draw, and by two illustrators with varying styles of art. The author herself decided to provided three of the illustrations as well! Losing teeth happens in many ways, and so does illustrating a book! Children are very curious about how they will lose their teeth, especially around the ages of five and six when their friends and siblings lose their teeth. This book was written for them to know teeth can be lost in a variety of ways. And it's an exciting process! A journal at the end of the story allows young readers to record how they lost their baby teeth.
