Pope Weekend

On August 26, 2015, Pope Francis arrived on the aircraft, "Shepherd One", at the Philadelphia International Airport for The World Meeting of Families, an event that takes place every three years. It was the first time the event was held in the United States. "Pope Weekend" captures the joy, the gaiety, and the enthusiasm of having His Holiness in Philadelphia. These photographs portray the diversity of human emotions during this momentous gathering. Editor, Arlene W. Leib, remarked, "A picture is worth a thousand words." A common saying, but fitting for this very uncommon book.
