My own translation of the two gospels, The Gospel of John and The Gospel of Luke, based on the Majority Greek text edited by Hodges and Farstad. My aim in putting the two gospels in one volume is to enable English readers to compare the two gospels in terms of their differing audiences and differing purpose. The Gospel of John is written to unbelievers that they would believe in Jesus for the gift of everlasting life. On the other hand, The Gospel of Luke is written to the believing church that Christians might learn what Jesus wants from the ideal disciple.
