Illuminated by grace, this short book offers a quiet journey from self-doubt to sacred reflection.
Do you ever feel like you don't measure up to the image of Christ? Like your faith is too weak, your past too messy, your heart too far from holy?
The Carpenter's Mirror: Seeing yourself through the eyes of Christ is a gentle guide for anyone struggling with insecurity, shame, or spiritual weariness. Through six simple, soul-soothing chapters, you'll walk alongside the broken and beloved people Jesus met - from Peter's denial to the woman at the well - and discover how his gaze can reshape your own. With clear language, Gospel stories, journaling prompts, and prayers, this book helps you:
Name the lies you've believed about yourself Feel seen and known by Christ Accept the invitation to be loved as you are Reframe your past through grace Begin to reflect Christ's image in your daily life Step forward with confidence and purpose
Whether you're new to faith or longing to reconnect, this book is designed to be read slowly, prayerfully, and personally. Keep your favourite Bible nearby and bring a journal to respond to the prompts - this is a journey meant to be lived, not just read.
You are not just forgiven. You are chosen. You are not just saved. You are sent. You are not a shadow of Christ - you are his reflection.
Come and stand before The Carpenter's Mirror. You might be surprised by what you see.
The Carpenter's Mirror: Seeing yourself through the eyes of Christ is the first light of a new horizon - a powerful beginning to the Christian Dawn series. As the world grows ever darker and uncertain, this series shines with the illuminating grace of God, calling hearts back to the One who saves. Be watchful. Be ready. More books in the Christian Dawn series are on the way - each one a step further into the light.
J.P. James is a child of God and a pastor of man. He is originally from the small, beautiful nation of Wales in the United Kingdom, a heartland of non-conformism, but lacking the evangelical zeal that gripped the author as a youth. Ironically, it was that very zeal witnessed during the 1904-1905 Revival that led him to Christ in the first place, having read about the religious awakening led by Evan Roberts when he was at school. He now lives between England and America.
