Dorothy Baum was named Dorothy after her great-grandmother but living in Kansas she lived through a lot of "Wizard of Oz" jokes. Maybe that's why she grew up ready to fight anyone. Maybe it's why she became a bookworm and grew a love of books. As an author she could write her own worlds and endings. Maybe it's why she didn't freak out when Oz came to visit.
