The town of Enterprise is a small, idyllic community in east central Mississippi and is home to a small, tightly knit population with a quality school system. As a new year begins, Eric Pullman, a published author, arrives in January to begin a new job as a high school English teacher. There are issues with his arrival and housing situation, but he works through them and finds a place to live temporarily, renting a room from his real estate agent, Chelsea Woodlawn. As the job begins, he continues searching for a more permanent housing situation.

School Counselor Dawn Chambers is having issues with her live-in boyfriend and kicks him out after some terrible behavior. She needs another roommate to make ends meet and learns of Eric's situation. She sees him as a good choice and offers him a room, which he readily accepts.

Shortly after he moves in with her, dark forces begin growing in the town: a coven of witches and an ancient vampire, one of the town's founders, returns to claim the town and has a plan to conquer the world that involves both Dawn and Eric while the witches attempt to stop him.

It takes a small, disparate group of other residents to discover the truth and put an end to the vampire's plan.
