Richard Ramirez, popularly known as the Night Stalker, was sentenced to death for the murders of 13 People in 1989. Ramirez was therefore one of the most prolific serial killers in U.S. history. He was never executed and instead died on death row awaiting his appeal to the Ninth Circuit. However, Ramirez's appeal was never heard.
Following extensive research, astonishing facts have been uncovered which cast serious doubts about whether Ramirez committed any of the crimes for which he was convicted. The police investigation was seriously flawed with coercive, unprofessional methods being deployed in order to satisfy a lazy desire to offload as many cold cases onto any vulnerable scapegoat they could find. Furthermore, Ramirez's trial - which should never have taken place because of serious psychological and cognitive issues - was nothing short of farcical.
We have provided comprehensive details of the crimes, the investigations and the court processes. We invite the reader to judge for themselves whether or not Richard Ramirez was guilty or the victim of one of the most astonishing miscarriages of justice. Could it be possible that the real killer - or killers - who terrorised Los Angeles in the 1980s managed to get away with their despicable crimes?
