In an alternate world, similar to ours, a Great War decimated civilization seven decades prior. Large cities called the "Polises" now dominate the ruined landscape of what was once earth. The city-states rule with rigid authority and class systems, and technology has been arrested to what is to us the 1920s. The flaw in this system is that they rebuilt civilization using the same methods and understandings that led to The Great War in the first place.

As this system too is now collapsing, a harbinger in this collapse has just been unearthed... a small fragment of a bowl.

It is an archeological discovery that cannot only change the world but the fabric of reality itself. Its true power unknown, the journalist Greta, her Archeological friends, and their benefactor Derrick begin to realize the object's power as they are chased by governments and secret societies across continents who are hellbent on its destruction. The object's magic, hidden for millennia, has started to emerge and speak to Greta, who begins to realize that her past, present, and future are intertwined with the Magic it offers.
