The novel takes place over hundreds of years after the IRC terraforms a planet they call Terra Nova Anteres. The first wave of colonists and scientists however discover upon landing that the planet contains only poisonous flora and the seeds they brought from Earth will not grow. What happens next is a journey through several generations of exploration and proposed development of a new world.
