Summary of "The Carpenter and the Two Brothers"

In the neighboring towns of Nnyemania and Ngyegyeme, two brothers-Bonka, the elder, and Donka, the younger-have been locked in a bitter feud for years. Their quarrel has grown so intense that a river now serves as the symbolic and physical divide between them. Unable to tolerate each other's presence any longer, they hire a mysterious carpenter, Odeneho, to build a fence to permanently cut off any interaction.

However, instead of a fence, the carpenter builds a bridge, sparking outrage at first but later opening the door to reconciliation. As tensions simmer, the bridge is mysteriously sabotaged, revealing that their division was being manipulated by their own trusted advisors-Zorbo and Mojura-who had been profiting from their enmity. Instead of falling back into old habits of blame, the brothers set a trap and exposed the conspirators, leading to their downfall.

Just as peace seems secured, a new threat emerges-Kunto the Iron-Fist, a warlord who preys on divided lands, marches toward the valley to conquer it. But instead of being weak from rivalry, the two towns now stand united. Working together, they outmaneuver Kunto's forces, forcing him into a humiliating retreat.

With victory in hand, the brothers complete the grand bridge, marking a new era of cooperation. A great festival is held, celebrating their transformation from enemies to allies, proving that true strength lies not in division but in unity.
