Michael Stanford, PhD an Information Technology professional who has held senior leadership positions in Enterprise Risk Management, Project Management, IT Security, written Business Impact Analysis (BIA), Security Policies and led Disaster Recover Planning teams was inspired to write this book about Identity Theft as this crime continues to be one of the largest silent crimes committed around the world. This book outlines examples of the impact on ordinary citizens and describes the loss that the public experiences when their identities are stolen. Author was also motivated to write this book when his identity was actually stolen at a local grocery store. The experience was traumatic and emotionally painful. The experience of this crime lives in the minds of its victims forever. No one talks much about this crime until they realize someone has taken something so personal and private it is difficult to imagine the reality of the theft.
