Jimmy is an apiring DJ and electronic music producer who becomes involved in a life-altering love triangle with two sisters in New York as he is trying to build his recording career. He tries to put his personal life behind him when he moves to London to take on the European club circuit. Eventually he settles down with his lover and fellow DJ but soon realises that success was not all he hoped for. Unable to escape his memories of the two sisters or resurect what he once felt for them, he ends up single and alone forced to come to terms with how time numbs human relationships, rendering past emotional bonds shadowy and irrevocable.

Written in graceful vivid prose The Black Tide is Antonelli's most moving and heartfelt novel to date. An exploration of time and love set against the exhilerating background of the international techno and Drum and Bass scene, The Black Tide is Flaubert's Sentimental Education meets Thomas Mann's Dr, Faustus for the rave generation, a must read for any fan of modern literature and music.

One reviewer said on Goodreads: "...the writing style....was fluid and beautiful, deftly weaving the threads of tragic romance into a majestic tapestry. Set against the backdrop of the US/UK electronic music scenes - with fleeting mentions of artists such as Aphex Twin and Daft Punk. "
